This last year has seen a massive transformation as we transitioned from Civica, to be our own stand alone company, gaining new colleagues in the process.
Ultimately this means that we are now masters of our own destiny… (hopefully you will have seen some of that in the way we are positioning ourselves to be future ready and equally trust that the actions taken are done with good spirit and intention, to ultimately benefit everyone.)
Whilst it would be wrong to ignore the immense impact the effective ‘forced move’ of our Revs and Bens systems has been, there are definitely green shoots appearing and the actions taken are already making an impact – these should accelerate over the coming months…Thank you to all of you for bearing with us through the change.
However I also wanted us to take a bit of a step back and look at the wider picture of what we have achieved in the last 12 months… because it is genuinely impressive….
We……
- Moved into new offices,
- Moved away from legacy Citrix,
- Have almost finished a complete refresh of our IT kit,
- Implemented new Learning Management Systems and Staff Engagement Platforms,
- Doubled down on company identity, values, culture and the importance of every person in our team. Trying to ensure that everyone is valued, but critically that they know that they are valued,
- Migrated our legacy Revs and Bens Platform to a new cloud system (Slightly forced on us and very challenging but essential for our future),
- Finished the move from Gsuite to m365,
- Built critical trust and social capital with our key stakeholders,
- Delivered a small surplus back to our owning Councils,
- Became a menopause friendly and a disability confident employer.
And along side this we delivered critical services for over 400,000 local residents, collected around £600m in Council Tax, Business Rates and Corporate Debt. Awarded over £100m in benefits and resolved around 370,000 customer enquiries across 23 different service lines, face to face and across email, with an average customer satisfaction rate of 98%.
Next year the Revs and Bens system will settle and we will start to shout a little more about our successes.
This is all part of the plan to position us for LGR. The noises coming from the Councils are positive. We just need to keep doing what we are doing… pulling together as an exceptional team, continue to care about each other and the public we ultimately serve, and deliver amazing services.
So alongside our birthday – I want to say a heartfelt ‘thank you’. I wouldn’t want to do this with any other team.
